This morning Roommate #2 and I met up with three fellow LCU Chaps and went to church at National Community Church, in Barracks Row. It wasn't really what I was hoping for, so I think I'm going to check out a church in Virginia next week. I thought the message was excellent (so much so that I'm going to try to find out if they do videos or podcasts), but the worship was very concert-like in style, and I found that it distracted me from worshiping God. Hey, if it helps you. But if it doesn't, as in my case, perhaps it's better to look elsewhere. Music definitely affects me emotionally, but I don't want to give God a "whoo, I can really dig this beat!" type of worship. Did I "dig the beat"? Absolutely. The musicians were talented. It's just not how I worship God completely. And that's okay.
After church, Roommate #2 left us to go find her internship site, and the four Chaps went to a baseball game! We walked there from church, and a lady from the Campagna center approached us and gave us four great seats. She was part of a charity group, and some of their attendees couldn't make the game. What a blessing! Not only were we on the "ground" level, but we were also in the shade. Score! (Said the European girl who burns like a lobster in the sun... Don't expect me to come back with a Panama City tan!)
