The favorites an LCU-TWC intern should know about...
Church: Arlington Church of Christ (Arlington, VA) is relatively small, and extremely warm. We like it. It takes about .... thirty (??) minutes on the Metro, and there's a little coffee/deli beside Metro in VA to get breakfast while you wait for their shuttle to pick you up. What's more, there are LCU (CDs and Sub-T) alums there. (Go Chaps!)

Market: It's a war between Walmart (catch the free RAF shuttle after 7PM) and Giant (walking distance). Walmart tends to be a great deal cheaper. Produce is usually higher quality at Giant. Get the Giant rewards card (sign up for free at their information desk; use your TWC address). It doesn't always save you a ton of money, but sometimes it saves you something. They charge $0.05 per grocery bag here, so think about buying a canvas tote bag to carry your groceries in. Nickles add up.
Capitol Attraction: Possibly the National Archives or the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum (WWI and WWII exhibits). I haven't checked out the National Medical Museum or the Arboretum yet... so this may change.
PB&J: Because every lunch you pack is about $12.00-$15.00 that you don't have to spend. Lunch gets expensive here.... "Cheap" takes on a different meaning in DC, and fast food is not prevalent in the heart of the city.
Nightlife: Bed??
