This morning I arrived in NW DC unnaturally early for an Informational Interview (a requirement for the TWC program). As I was waiting for him to arrive, I found myself watching people as they came and went. Too tall. Too old. Too young. Too pregnant, nope, definitely not. He arrived promptly at 8:30AM, and we made our way to a quiet corner. Tom, an orthopedic Physical Therapist, gave me a half hour to ask any questions I wanted. We had a great discussion on his career path, he gave brilliant advice on how to be an attractive job candidate coming out of PT school (hint: it isn't all the science classes), and even told me how he became a PT at one point for the USA Olympic team!
It was over too soon and it was back to research, research, research, research, research.
My research is giving me a headache. It's like when you're writing a research paper and you just can't figure out where you're needing to go next. I left work early for class, but came back almost immediately; I had gone two stops on the metro train before realizing I had left my wallet on my desk. It might not have been a big deal, as one of my officemates had offered to take it home with her, but my apartment key was in it... and I didn't want to go home and bang on the door. Sigh.
By the time I arrived home, it was the normal time. After that, it was a normal Wednesday blur: a fast dinner, class, and bed.
It hit me today that I had offered to audition to sing at commencement. Not just any song. The national anthem. ... I'm not sure yet if this was a moment of insane bravery or just insanity. I'll let you know.
Some days just feel longer. Is it Saturday yet??
