My face is twitching. Weird muscles that I can't really control by just thinking about it - I've resorted to slapping my hand to my face to pull and push these (intrinsic?) small muscles as the need arises. Specifically, the tiny muscles around my eye (where the bags show up when you have too little sleep, and the outer corner of the eye), and the side of the nose. Real convenient.
A visit to Dr. Mackler was helpful, although I'm sore. My insurance plan doesn't cover chiropractic, which I found out at his office (oh, joy!), so I left a good chunk of my bank account at his office. Yikes. Groupon may be the next avenue for exploration... :/
One of the people in the office, the one who inspired my officemates to dub me the most popular intern in the SOI office, is blind-- and he made me a braille sheet with my name on it! I wasn't in the office when he came by with it, so he left this thoughtful gift for me to find.
We're having frozen yogurt with my supervisor on Friday. So. Excited.

Pandora is normally on in the background (through headphones) during the work day. I switched to a new radio station, but ran across a problem..... I can't take Bruno Mars seriously any more.
The reason is because of this video. Honestly, that's precisely what comes to mind. I cannot sing this song properly -- I always end up singing "Dancing Jews."

Coming home from work I was waiting for the train, and when one finally arrived... everyone disembarked. The train emptied onto a packed platform, people were flooding in from the street, and someone was taking pictures of the crowd below from the upper level. It wasn't mayhem, but I could tell that people weren't happy. A metro officer walked by to check through the cars while people kept piling into the station like it was the train car. Finally, another train came along and I was swept on board. Literally. During my US History 1 class, I read a book called Parlor Politics, which described Dolly Madison's "crushes" -- social events where people would cram so tightly into her home (home?) that people couldn't really move around. It felt like that, though this was certainly less entertaining that Dolly Madison might have been. The plus, though, was that there was this mass of people to stop me from falling.
Wait. I take that back. We were all hot and sweaty... NOT a plus!
Unfortunately, today took twice as long to get home because of the issue on the Red Line. There's always something going on with the Red Line. Wearily, I grabbed a snack and headed to class.
My hip is a little achy, but overall I still feel worlds better.

Class tonight kind of felt like we were running in circles tonight with our conversation, but I understand that we're laying a concrete foundation for the rest of class. I think everyone was a little too tired tonight.
Talked with my parents this evening. Usually I have a call at least once or twice a week, which is really nice. It's good to stay connected to home base. Maneuvering the time zone difference has been a learning curve because I'm ready to call them while I'm getting ready or walking to work in the morning, and then I'll remember its 4:30 or 5AM where they're at! "Oops!"
Dad always tells me to call anyway, but I'd rather let him sleep as much as he can and talk with them during their daytime while I'm wrapping up my evening.
Yawn! Bed time!
