Again I find myself struggling with feeling like I'm wasting my summer by being productive at work and at the apartment, but not seeing DC. Surrounded by so much history, I've found myself caught in the worker-bee trap. Perhaps I've become too much of a Washingtonian.
Today was unremarkable and "normal" in many ways. Work. Emails. Metro. Home.
Benedicta and I had a short discussion about going to the National Arboretum today, which made me think of all the things I've done and still want to do. With two weeks left, I'm not sure that I can get it all done!

Although I haven't checked off everything, and likely won't, the experiences that I have had so far have been phenomenal. I've found little treasures, like Battery Kemble Park, which I wouldn't have ever thought about. I'll keep a sense of moderation with the remaining time I have, but I hope I can squeeze a lot in in the next couple of weekends.
If I had a list at the beginning of my summer in DC, perhaps I would have accomplished more, but maybe that's a sad argument for quantity over quality. I am pleased with what I've been able to accomplish here this summer. I've built relationships with those at work, become a part of a church family, and changed a great deal from who I was two months ago.
I'm ready to go home now, but not without a bittersweet goodbye.
